Script
That is when I saw you there.
Cast upon the altar where
You whispered every silent prayer
To a god who wasn't even there.
They set upon you with police and thugs.
You faced them down with nary a shrug.
Your leader lost his look so smug
And wondered what was this pit he'd dug.
Across the world, you were out of sight.
When you were in darkness we were in light.
And our own leader cared not at all for you plight.
Seeking chilled desserts for his fancy delight.
Think not that you are unique at all.
For this is not the only time He's abandoned the call.
Remember when Russia pushed Georgia to the wall
And all He could do was sputter and stall?
They say that Nero played fiddle in scorn
While all around Rome burned so sullen, forlorn.
But if in that day, He had been born
Obama would have been content with a bowl of popcorn.
It is to our shame that we leave you alone
And turn our backs while they cast their stones.
To you it's more than just broken bones.
To you it's a chance for your own free home.
I pray to the real God, someday we may meet
In better circumstances (I would humbly entreat),
You need not ever feel incomplete
For when Neda's blood ran through the street...
That is when I saw you there.
