Short Stories
While Peter most often works on novels, he has been known to pen a few short
stories too. A few of these are available here on the website for you to
ignore. Since his works span many different genres, a brief description of
the short stories follow the title.
Addicted General fiction.
Approximately 1,400 words. The first draft was written circa 2005 before
being put in a drawer and forgotten. It was rediscovered in 2009 and
edited for this web version.
Snake Oil General
fiction, borderline psuedo-horror. Approximately 4,900 words. This
was written in 2009, and Peter later recorded audio of him reading it along with
some background music (Peter says "For some reason, you have to read it with a
Southern accent"). The mood was probably influenced a bit by Stephen King
novels, although there's nothing outright scary in the story (it's more of just
a general creepy feeling).
What Time Can't Heal
General fiction. Approximately 3,700 words. Written in 2009, this
story is very loosely based on events that occured to a member of Peter's
family. Of his short stories published here, this is probably the most
"literary" work.
